Background: Born in Arabia 600 years ago, Ra's al Ghul discovered the powers of the life-restoring Lazarus Pit to cure a dying prince. However the royal went mad and killed Ra's's wife. Enraged, he gathered his tribe and slaughtered the entire royal family. From then he travelled around the world and formed an organisation known as "The League of Shadows" and soon became known as "Ra's Al Ghul", Arabic for the "Head of the Demon"
